The CEUS organizes a wide range of activities for Civil Students!
We try our best to make all the events and activities inclusive and accessible.
The CEUS has been organizing events for its students for decades, and every year sees new events being added to a packed schedule! Civil events can be described as innovative, original and open to anyone!
Some events are free while others are paid. Paid events will be represented by $ signs with the following range:
$ = 0-15$ entry fee
$$ = 15-50$ entry fee
$$$ = 50$ + entry fee
Keep in mind that even free entry events may be located at a bar or restaurant where if you want to have a drink it must be purchased.
Some free events also provide free drinks for the first round only.
Events organized by the CEUS can be divided into a few categories, with each event presenting original or common characteristics. These types of events include, but are not limited to:
Networking
Events organized by the CEUS that prioritize meeting with recruiters and companies in the civil engineering profession.
Small-scale social events (with alcohol)
These events are usually organized in places such as bars or pubs and are designed to facilitate socializing among your peers. While they do have alcohol at the venue, it is never mandatory to drink at any event organized by the CEUS!
Small-scale social events (without alcohol)
These events are similar to the previous section, except they usually take place in the Civil Lounge or Common Room and include activities such as movie nights or painting. Alcohol is not provided or allowed at these events.
Large-Scale Events
These events take place at large venues or other cities altogether! They are renowned for being incredible creators of memories. It is best to buy tickets early for these events as they usually sell out quickly. More information about these events is provided below.

These events allow you to get acquainted with the field of Civil Engineering and allow you to build connections and prospects.

These events are organized frequently (every 2-3 weeks) throughout the school year and are usually held on Thursdays. Examples include but are not limited to:

One of the most important events, come speak to your professors and enjoy a free sandwich! They will be listening to your concerns regarding anything academic in Civil.
Civil Apartment Crawl

Gather 9 of your friends and hop on an adventure in downtown Montreal! You will be visiting up to 10 different apartments hosted by fellow civvies (with a drink included at most stops as well as some food stops) before heading to an after-party with the other departments!
*All drinking events also have non-drinking and gluten free options*
These events are organized a few times a year and are some of the biggest departmental events in engineering. They require buying a ticket early as they sell out quickly!
Civil Banquet

One of the best nights of the year! Join dozens of your fellow civvies for a night to remember! Start at the pre-banquet gatherings hosted by fellow civvies of your year to get the night going. Then head to a nice restaurant for a great meal and a great atmosphere. Finally, join the other departments for an amazing after-party in one of the best clubs of Montreal! This is definitely a night you do not want to miss!
Civil Colloquium

One of the best weekends of the year! This multi-day excursion (Thursday to Sunday) with around 40 of your fellow civvies will take you to another city and provide you with amazing memories! Past cities visited include Ottawa, Quebec City, Kingston and Cornwall. During the days, immerse yourself in your future profession by visiting multiple sites in all four specializations of civil engineering. After a fruitful day of visiting, prepare to enjoy the night during the multiple night events that are organized over the weekend, from traditional pub crawls to professional hockey games! Transport, accommodation and some meals are provided!
